Grand Street Guild Scholars

Grand Street Guild Community & Social Services is proud to announce the start of a new program — the Grand Street Guild Scholars! This summer, residents can participate in free high quality SHSAT and SAT prep starting July 10th. Classes will place a strong emphasis on college readiness, personal motivation, and leadership. SHSAT classes will meet Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. SAT Classes will meet Wednesdays from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. Space is limited. Sign up here!

Grand Street Guild Community & Social Services is partnering with Follow Us To Success to provide SHSAT & SAT programming to residents. Follow Us is a contracted vendor to the New York City Department of Education who specializes in providing customized education and training services. What is the SHSAT? The SHSAT is a standardized test that middle school students can take in 8th grade. Depending on their score, students would qualify to attend Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science, and other specialized high schools in New York City. Most students who wish to attend New York City specialized high schools start preparing for the test in their first year of middle school. But, it is not too late! Come join the Grand Street Guild Scholars, and we will do our best to make sure your child as prepared as they can be for the test.

What is the SAT? The SAT is a standardized test that many colleges & universities use to determine admission into their institutions. While the test is reviews verbal and mathematical skills that most students learn during high school, it is also important to learn how to take the SAT. Come join the Grand Street Guild Scholars to learn how to take the SAT and the best strategies for increasing your score!
